SteamDiego saw its beginnings in 1948 when Bernard Garber began providing installation and plumbing services for San Diego County residents. By 1985, the company had grown to include installation and repair of dry and steam saunas for clients throughout San Diego County, adjacent counties and beyond.
SteamDiego has continued to grow, becoming a leading expert in electric steam boilers as well as dry saunas and offers comprehensive manufacturer warranty services.
We are now the most relied upon steam expert in Southern California and it is our pleasure to work with almost all the major suppliers and manufacturers in the country.
SteamDiego provides service for all major manufacturers and suppliers of steam and sauna products throughout the country. We are often called upon by manufacturers of steam and sauna equipment to act as their expert in the field.

Founder and CEO Steve Garber has been the face of the family business since 1985 and, in 2003 the company began to work specifically in the steam & sauna business. Steve provides the highest quality relaxation experience to his steam & sauna clients not only because he has dedicated himself to an in-depth understanding of steam & sauna rooms and equipment mechanically, but also by way of maintaining a life-long practice dedicated to the arts of Aikido and Zen meditation. These aesthetics and sensibilities are reflected in the care and attention to detail Steve gives every job and his devotion to client satisfaction. He works closely with his team to provide high quality steam & sauna rooms, helping to provide the same relaxation mindset that arises from practicing these ancient Japanese arts.
Steve earned a BA in Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz and a Master’s in Peace Studies from University of San Diego and regularly uses the problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills learned from his studies and training in his business.
